About Me: Started living on my own at 16. Was made a ward of the State at 14. Earned GED at 15. Moved to major University and although was not an enrolled student, I attended classes and educated myself while also supporting myself financially. Was tough. Hit some bad patches but am over 45 now and wish there was online school when I was young. Didn't care about credit at all. Rebellious about it all actually. Worked my way from a secured credit card to almost 20 accounts, car loan with great interest rate, and savings put up.to.survive at least 6 months in case of job loss. Just read everything I could. Credit Karma was a huge help in how this world of credit works and it makes me feel good when I can pay it forward to help others understand the basics. I am not a financial wizard and I don't like money or greed but I appreciate what good credit can do for you to.make your life easier if you need it. I live by the simple rule of never go in over 30% of your limits and always making larger payments over the minimum. I.also did it for the rewards offers and advise to do your homework big time because some are great but others were designed specifically for you to get confused and lose your money. I am in the process of paying off all zero.intro APR cards and then get rid of the scammer cards. My score doesn't matter. My ability to make my payments on time and diversity is what creditors look at. Good luck. You can do it!

Always go inside

I use a credit union, but if you go inside dressed nice and look the part and allow them to go over your hisotry with them, I believe your odds are better BUT with that said, applying online can be just as good. It depends on what and how much you are trying to get. Too many other questions need to be asked for me to give you a proper response. When I got my car loan from the credit union, they looked at my income, my checks go to them every payday, they saw how far I have to drive to work, they called me on the phone, we had a conversation, I explained I did not WANT a car loan but I needed reliable transportation to and from work. They approved me. The payment was within range and they saw I could still afford my rent. They base it on your monthly income minuis your rent or mortgage and make a decision. It is not rocket science.

It seems to be a great card with good chance of building your credit score. I been working very hard to build my credit and maintain low balances and it has paid off. It doesn't happen over night and you have to keep with it and eventually all will fall in place..I like this option for a card and am learning the world of rewards...

can my second level validation happen thru email?

NOPE!

Anyone can change an email. They want it snail mailed to them for a REASON. Do as they say if that is what they ask for.

If I kill myself, does my debt go away then?

Jul 09, 2015
Seriously

NOPE! Any and all assests go into probate unless you have a living will. The State will decide what to do with your debt. If you have loved ones who would inherite what you have that has value, you need a living will and it needs to say who gets what clear and simple. If you have DEBT, anything you have of value will be sold to pay that debt off FIRST before it goes to loved ones unless you carryu DEATH INSURANCE, that says your debts get paid off when you die.

Update to my other response:

Sorry, I just read where your payment hisotry is poor and you are at 50%. You can walk in and do a song and dance all you want, they are going to be very cautious with you about taking out more credit with them, I would look for another source. What are wanting more credit for?

credit card utilization

Jul 09, 2015
Maybe...

The VERY first thing you did was send off red alerts. You got ONE card and dang near used the entire limit right off the bat. That alerts all the systems that you are NOT credit worthy and just wanted to spend that money ASAP. Once it is paid off, your score will go back up but there are too many factors for anyone to say whether it will go back up FAST like it dropped it FAST. You want it to go up FAST, pay off the $2700 FAST like you spent it! And do not EVER go over 10-15% of a limit on a credit card, it sends out all kinds of warnings....Good luck!
