''LISTEN""   when you have an unpaid bill, the original company you had the bill/collection with writes it off, when they write it off they in all fair/honest/truthfulness get paid for it in by writing it off for losses on their taxes!  they sale it cheap to a collection agency and collect a little more again besides the write off..so in all fairness you owe the collection agency not a penny because by law you have no contract with the third party that purchased the dept..so i would dispute with a ''no contract'' dispute...new laws are coming down harder on collection companys unlawful practices such as this..im not promoting any of you not to pay your bills...but collection companys should and actually are illegally operating and have no legal contract with you....most times they dont even have the proper paperwork to back up their claims, then by law they have no grounds to stand on..they operate under the mindset of you wont dispute them and the odds you pay them in seven years, or they unlawfully change the reporting dates and prices and name of company information all on you or sale it to another collection company..

Once you pay a collection account how fast will it show on your credit?

sometimes

sometimes paying it can hurt you!   if you pay it, when settling always demand to all collection companys you will need a complete ''deletion'' for you to pay for it!!!   why?  because just you paying it and them only marking it as paid/closed can still punish your credit for years because even though its marked paid/closed its still seen as a negative on your report...so i always always tell them i wont pay without a deletion because its not morallly right i pay for it and continue to be punished..if you pay it you should in all morals and fairness be rewarded for your taking responsibility..be stern for a deletion, trust me you will be glad you did and your credit score and report will look much better..

sharing my experience with you all with dealing /negotiating with collection companys over your collections..''Everytime'' ive called to talk to them about paying a debt. ive told them i wont pay without it being deleted..everytime and every single one of them say they do not delete collections at all, they only send a letter it was paid..but it can remain on your report for years if they dont delete it...they can delete it people!   heres how i get it deleted everytime:

when they tell you they do not delete it, dont buy it..but talk and remain calm ans stern..tell them they are the ones who put it on the credit report and its only right they remove it if you pay, also tell them it does you no benefit to pay it if they dont delete it..tell them you refuse to pay it if its not part of the deal...their trained to not tell you they can delete it..they send a letter and email request in for it to be deleted..ive done this enough times as i had tons of medical bills i started paying off and learned with experience how to negotiate with them and what they will always tell everybody...they dont like to have to do it, but they will do it for you to pay off the collection..thats what their in business for!!!  its not like all the accounts they got are in line to pay these bills right, thats why they are in business and its profit for them when you settle and pay..so stay very stern you will not pay unless the deletion is part of the deal..for the deletion they normally will make you pay the full amount though...if you negotiate a half price pay off they normally wont delete it for you...

consistancy
Helpful to 44 out of 52 people

Yes, consistancy of paying bills on time is critical to your score, and having available credit and not using more than 30% on each credit card shows responsibility..ive sat down amd talked to somebody who specializes in credit and credit repar, a legit professiinal..dont get more than 2 or 3 secured credit cards, dint spend more than 30% on each one and whatever you spend pay off right away..a vehicle loan can help some to..jyst live within your means and be responsible and your score will climb.there is no overnight fix, you just have to build cr3dit history, everybody does..640 is bottom line score a top banker told ke, 680 is much better, and 720 is much more easy to work with, 750 or higher is pretty good shape and you will get better offers..i was younger and made key mistakes and economy recession hurt a lot..but get back on the horse and get grinding away to bring your score back up..lifes much more easy being able to get loans for a home, car, whatever..im planning on buying a home in 2017 ..but no rush because i wanna really do my best on doimg my home work and educating myself on making the very best deal on a home..

this cards helped my credit in two years
Helpful to 7 out of 7 people

two years ago i started with two secured credit cards, one capital one bank, the other a secured wells fargo credit card....both eventually became unsecured...wells fargo is horrible at raising your credit limits which slags on increasing your credit score, but i will say capital ones really help and i started at like $300.00 and its now up to $4,300.00 credit limit in two years time...my credit scores on credit karma was like 580 when i started, making payments on time and not spending on the card unless i had the money to transfer right over after anything i just purchased right away...always keep your balance below like 10%...ive never went above that...i also callled some collection compays and settled with them if only they would agree to do a full complete deletion and they did...so that all combined brought my score up into 720's and hopefully should bounce up more soon..if you ever wanna own a home, buy a new car with good interest rates and other perks...good credits a major factor in building a life..you only get in big credit card debts running up all kinds of spending with money you just dont have...be disciplined and responsible...if you dont have the money to buy it already in your own bank account dont buy it..kive in your own means..

My credit was like 589..i first got a wells fargo secured credit card at my bank with $300.00 deposit and my credit line was $300.00..been paying that for 2 years now and no missed payments at all and after two whole years just got second increase to $700.00....wells fargo is very slow and gives such small increases, but the cards now unsecure and yearly fee was removed..now onto capital one, first card with them two years ago, it was a secured card with a $300.00 limit and a $39.00 yearly fee, its now unsecured and increased to $2,300.00 and about to be raised again as all my paymentsnon time with no balance.but i want the card to become with no annual fee soni can keep it long term..i feel ive proved myself and im grateful this cards really helped me on some credit building, aling with wells fargo card, and bbva auto loan im way ahead on, andnive settled some old collections, etc,...but my goals now all my cards with no yearly fees at all..and if capital one says no to that and you cut the card off then your credit takes a hit..as i said im after all my credit cards to have no annual fees yearly at all...this is important to me.i set reachable goals and go for them.my combined available credits right now at $3,000.00  my other goal is to get that to $5,0000.00 and then by end of 2016 hopefully $10,000.00...i want great credit before applying for a first time home owner loan sometimenin 2017 im hoping..set reachable goals with growing your credit..push it ahead.,not saying go spend in what you dont have, just use it wisely..learn from your mistakes..credit takes time and you gotta show your trustworthy and responsible with it..then good things come!

Why are accounts removed from my credit report?

So much sneaky tactics by collection agencys, they change the name to another name, change the date it was reported and sometimes the amount so it looks different to keep it on your report longer..this is illegal  of them to do so!  also they lie if you call to settle with them and ask for a complete deletion and say they dont do that, they only mark it as paid, but dont delete it...their liars!  dont pay them unless you get a full deletion..thats only right thing of them to have to do !

after transunion ane equifax removes accounts that were disputed the collection agency still tries to repost it under new name, price, date...con artist..

Tell me this scam by hospitals...they bill you right, if you dont pay they write it off on their taxes and collect, but they can still hurt your credit and continue to try to collect twice..there needs to be laws put into place hospitals need to drop collections if they collect on taxe write offs from it...this is illegal and just a scam/con/criminal..

collection negotiation
Helpful to 6 out of 6 people

from my experience i will share with all of you..i had some collections from years back..i had no insurance at job and lost job once i broke my back off the job..so i could not pay so many medical bills back then and they went to collections on my credit report..so finally getting back to work and were i can settle some collections and delete them off my credit report..but when call the collection comany to settle, i always ask for a complete deletion, they will wiggle around this and say they will send a letter its paid, but thats no deletion..they will say we dont delete these over and over again..just about all of them say this..but tell them theres no reason for you to pay them to settle the collection if theres no complete deletion from your credit repor, and tell them your told this by other collection companys and they all have done it for you..ive done it and they keep saying well its your bill that you should of paid..i just keep saying nicely if i pay them its their duty to remove what they put on there, and theres no reason to settle and pay for something thats on there to hurt me..normally they always delete it then to get you to pay it!!!!!    keep your calm and remain nice but stern you wont pay without a deletion!!!
