I agree with StunningIncomeProfits, don't cancel your old cards, these keeps your credit profile 'older', a benefit that takes a long time to build. Use each every now and then for a fill up with gas, than repay before statement is generated. Great way to keep a top notch score.

I didn't see anywhere in the application & terms where one gets 10% back yearly. If so, the card wouldn't have so many negative reviews. This is why Liardetector considered it not a legit review, as do myself. No CC is handing out 10% year in bonuses.

Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi

Of course so, that's why it's called the Costco Anywhere Card (although can be used at other places).

This means one's Costco membership dues ($60/year for Gold) is applied to the card annually. Yet it's not an annual fee, because Costco members w/out this card has to pay the same.

One of the best features of the card & one most others won't give, is 4% at the gas pump at Costco locations, which is considered a warehouse membership purchase. Depending on how much one drives & uses the card for fuel, it's possible for the membership to pay for itself. Especially for a family, or even a couple who has long commutes to work.

Also noteworthy, Costco carries Top Tier fuel, not low grade like Sheetz & Walmart. Even their regular unleaded has 5x the limit of detergent needed to meet the requirement, meaning less issues with emission components going bad (costly 'check engine' lights). Cleaner fuel also leads to healthier air to breathe.

Any financial institution has higher rates for bad or limited credit borrowers, if it was 'that' high', could had walked away. Sometimes dealerships also 'upsells' interest rates & they get a slice of the pie, why they deal with just a few lenders, depending on what type of credit score the potential customer has.

That's why it's best to be pre-approved for a loan via preferred sources such as credit union or Costco (the latter a 'no haggle' loan), so that dealerships can't overcharge interest & other hidden fees. Sometimes, one can drive a new auto off the lot w/out paying down a red cent. Although anything paid upfront still favors the customer in a lowered payment.

How fast was 'right away'?

If the charge was within a couple days before the statement closing date & not paid as soon as arriving home, of course this will happen.

This is why it's best to always be mindful of not only the date payments is due, also the statement cutoff date. Had you paid that 90% before the cutoff, would never had been reported. I know, as I've charged over 70% on mine, but paid to zero before statement generation & therefore, no damage done.

In areas where there's a PNC back, I bet you could go and make an in-person payment until the PIN or whatever's needed arrives. Other credit card issuers has a rule that one MUST wait 30 days to add a bank for online payment. AMEX done that to me, no problem, I didn't use the account for a month.

You mean the PIN wasn't mailed with the card or included with the account approval letter/email?

GrammaDiamond, while you're one of the lucky ones (I did the same & never got a limit raise from $200), good to hear from one that has.;-)

That stated, I'd also like to know 'the lie' that Jonfromflorida was told. Also, if it's not in the print of the contract, which is required per Federal Law, oral statements by a rep are meaningless, they can say one's approved for 'up to' $1,000 & get the card & find out it's only $500 or less. Some folks tends not to want to hear that part very well, then says they were lied to.

Oyugap, I also believe there's something untold, Anonymous stated it in the opening sentence "No negative marks on my credit whatsoever. I had recently paid off everything that was in collection.".

While paying off collections is good when it comes to moral standards, after all, when we sign a contract, it's expected to be honored, that doesn't erase the history & doesn't raise the score a single digit by doing so. While some lenders may give credit on less favorable terms, such as an auto or home loan, they also want a letter written stating why one got in such a jam, have been there back on the 80's when purchasing our home.

And again when filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1991 when my spouse became disabled, applied for a $7,500 auto loan 2 years past discharge & got it, although had to provide the written statement, and more important, having the same job & residence for 6 years (stability factor), and of course at 18% APR with only 36 months to payoff. Needless to say, I became appreciative of my credit at that point, and although the bankruptcy loomed over my head until 2001, received more favorable terms (well, from everyone other than Capital One) once that auto was paid off. Plus our never late mortgage was considered 'good debt', which had to keep our scores propped up to some degree.

At any rate, the opening two sentences alone suggested the opposite of "No negative marks on my credit whatsoever.". No negatives, one wouldn't be in the market for 18-29% APR credit of any type.

Where can I purchase auto insurance at a competitive rate?
