I got this card 6/14 w/ $49 deposit and $200 CL. My current CK 586. Given CLI to $500 without any additional deposit. Same thing happened to my husband.
Turnaround6's response was:
BK 7 d/c 2/14. Have Cap1 secured since 5/14 (CL $200 w/ $49 deposit). Plus, I have total of 8 inquires and 10+ retail accounts from 7/14 (some via soft pulls). CK 607 w/ good chance of approval. I decided to go for it. Much to my surprise instant approval for $3K today. My other accounts have always been paid in full and try to stay below 30% utilization.
I paid my bill online on 1/16/15. It came out of my account the next business day. When I looked at credit availablie today, it is not reflected. Well, it's Walmart so should I have expected more? Heck no! If it weren't for the free FICO score and ability to use at Sam's Club, I wouldn't bother. Although, it has been applied on my newest statement. Makes no sense.
BTW have had no lucky with credit limit increase. Still stuck at $150 CL from 7/14. Balances on all credit cards PIF monthly. 20% or < utilization. Post BK 2/14.
Also, nearly fainted over horrendous drop in credit score with Credit Karma's new scoring model. Went from 629 to 579. Ouch! No idea where I stand. 1/15 FICO 655.
Did your ch 13 trustee give you permission? We were told that we had to get approval first. No incurring expenses over $500 without their permission or obtaining new credit cards.
Turnaround6's reply was:
My old CK score was 629. It has plummeted in a matter of days to 558. Not at all happy with new scoring model. My FICO is 655. Gee, which CK score seems to be more accurate? New layout leaves something to be desired. Not balanced at all visually and not as readable. The individual who designed and decided on these changes will probably receive a hefty bonus instead of being fired. I have no faith in any of CKs recommendations anymore. I'll stick to credit sesame, quizzle, and cardmatch.
CK said good chance of being approved. I was declined d/t too many cap1 accounts (secured cc and platinum). I know others have not had a problem. Thankfully, no damage to credit score with inquiry.
OLD CK model: 629 NEW CK model: 578 FICO: 655
Will have to base decisions whether to apply for credit cards or other loans based off other CS sites. Discrepancy is way too large to make sense of anything on CK at this point.
