This was the first card I appplied for on my own after doing a few weeks of research on what would benefit my neesd inthe future (mostly being travel related). I only had about a years worth of credit history - a shared Lowe's card, a car payment with a co-sign, both accounts being under 30% so I basically took a shot in the dark applying given that and having a "fair" approval odds.TU and Equifax were 684 when I applied, and to my surprise I was approved. Granted I have the highest interest rate and a low max ($2000) but I wasn't expecting much to begin with so I'll take it. The quarterly setups make sense for me, and it's not too far off from how I typically spend anyway. You'll max out your quarters easily without having to try very hard. I wouldn't reccomend using points for cash out if you plan on get a CSP or CSR in the future, which is what I hope to do once I'm a little more comfortable financially. Sorry this isn't much of a "review", just wanted to pass along my financial situation to those who may be concerned as I was and still on the fence.

Why would you close your Freedom?! It's a keeper card and you could have raked in the points for the 5% categories to transfer over to CSP. Plus, it's a longer account which hurts your average age of credit..

I'm an HR manager and help arrange AFLAC policies for our employees, not one person has ever had a complaint with their plans, though that could also come from having a great rep too. I would definitely advise their Life Insurance policies for young people to lock in a really good rate. You can't beat paying less than a combo costs at McDonals for $250,000 in coverage.

My point is closing your oldest account that has no annual fee and then to reconsider applying for it again is seriously shooting yourself in the foot. You're lowering your average age of credit and potentially adding another hard inquiry later.

What is your credit allowance between all cards/loans? Banks will compare that to your salary sometimes and if you're close to what they see risky they won't give you an increase.

Probably a damaged card. Have them send you a new one and see if the issues persist.

This is standard practice for most issuers, not racism.

First off, English. Second, Credit Karma is not your financial adviser, and your credit scores simulated here are just that, simulations. Mine has shown a difference as high as 30 points.

Did you consider any other factors before applying? Credit Karma shouldn't be the main deciding factor, their estimations on your chances of approval are based on very limited information they receive from your profile.

Ok, but what is the question? Talk to your lender if there is information incorrect on your paperwork.
