Updating Personal Information on Your Credit Report

Apr 21, 2016

All of my Student Loan Debt was Discharged by the Dept of Education , not 'transferred' (wording of transunion) Also there is no way I had 27 student loans that would mean i attended college for at least 12 years

I took out 1 loan for an extra semester at my Paralegal School. Then I attended Texas Wesleyan for three years..

Why are my Student loans showing up at all when NELNET HAS CONTACTED THE DEPT OF ED TO DISCHARGE, NOT 'TRANSFER' MY LOANS?

i AM PERMENENTLY DISABLED AND UNA BLE TO WORK

How to dispute an error on your credit report

If it starts the clock all over to inquire about a  debt or try then it makes sense that businesses use collection agencies to hide doesn't it? One of the reasons I do like this site is you can see who the original creditor is!

In recent years I have noticed a lack/loss of flexibility in making payments on debts...I lost my job in 2005, became sick, and tried to work out payment arrangements with some of my creditors but none of them wanted to be reasonable. It was either their way or the high way and since I couldn't manage their way ....they sued me and to this day I will not pay their debt for one thing it was incorrect...for another the doctor bills were what was billd but not what I was told would be my 'copay' and sense they don't want to work with you what the heck/

My best friend made arrangements with three credit card companies. She had good enough credit to buy a house, But as soon as she startedd making payments and on time her score plummeted. I think this is BS. Also this friend the most honest person I have ever met and a missionary so I think the whole credit system stinks to high heaven and makes no sense at all.

It is a scam and it is blackmail to submit to only the terms the companies want to accept. An offer you extend figured by you in accordance to your budget is rarely accepted.

I do not expect to ever have good credit. Not unless I win the lottery or some good samaritan comes along to pay everything off for me at one time lol! That did happen to a friend of mine and she is as irresponsible as can be but has wonderful credit.

It certainly not the way it was years ago with my mother's generation. She truly thinks that this is a reasonable way to evaluate character. I have had all sorts of good things that were never put on my report and alot of things that were just extortion to get me to pay somethng I had already paid, or in one case, a medical doctor who screwed up my foot surgery and then misinformed me as to what my part would be in paying him,....so out of my own bullheadness I decided not to even worry about a credit report or score anymore. Not going to be blackmailed. If I cant pay cash or do a lay a way then so be it its too much monin ey anyway!

Those are my thoughts on THAT

I also have seen things put on my credit report like an ambulance bill from an incident in 2009 that wasnt put on there until 2014. I have seen things put on there that were once on for seven years and then put on my report once again. Ive been told there is no statute of limitations on bills. I have also been the victim of identity theft which caused about 30 checks to bounce out of my acccount and I had no way to know untill later which ones bounced. When I contacted a credit card (captial one) company and asked why I was still recieving bills with interest I was told they were not obligated to let me know that my check had bounced. I thought I had paid off the whole thing. So for a 35 dollar pair of shoes I purchased and made the payments on in good faith I now have a debt of 350 dollars they keep trying to get me to pay. Not happening.

Oh and one other thing, in Mom's day you could call and make arangments to pay even just 5 dollars at a time. Nowdays because they have this credit bureau racket going, they 'won't accept payment' untless it it whatever they have established is their minimum payment amount. They know they have us all by the b+++s so BAH HUMBUG! I AM GETTING TO OLD FOR THIS KIND OF NONSENSE.

AND I AGREE WITH ALL THE COMMENTS ABOVE!
