I got this card about a year ago thinking it was going to help my credit and I was wrong!  You get charged every month $12 fee, plus your interest. Then on your 12 month the give you a $75 dollar annual fee. So I cancelled the card and went to pay off the balance but the annual fee was charged before I was even through my 11th month. I called and they said they would take off the annual fee to call back in 72 hours to give it time to post back to my account. I waited a week went back online to pay it off and the annual fee was still on there. Plus now they gave me a $35 dollar late fee since I didn't make a payment cause I was paying it off in full. Needless to say it has been 2 months and I'm stil waiting to get my annual fee back.......this card is horrible, it's really not worth it.

No auto-payment options, plus high fees

I was excited to get approved for a credit card with a low 600s score without a deposit. However, the fees are ridiculous and the time it takes to post payments is far too slow. I also have a secured Capital One credit card and they post payments within 48hrs. Recently my family and I went on a small vacation and I tried to use the Matrix card for a hotel deposit. To my surprise the transaction was declined. Over a week before the trip I paid off my card so it had a zero balance. I was totally embarssed. Thank God I had another card. Payments are removed from your checking account (I usually make my payments online) within one business day. Another gripe I have about this card is that you can not set up an auto-payment arrangement online. I don't often use this card, but my mom is an authorized user and she uses it occasionally without my knowledge, plus there is a $12.00 per month fees. I'm afraid that I'll forget a payment every month. I have had payments sent thru my bank and for some reason two payments got returned with no explanation. Continental Finance is still in the stone ages of banking. I know when your down your choices are limited, but if possible seek help elsewhere. Or do as I'm doing and before the 2nd annual billing cancel the card. The several points you'll lose will be gained back over time.

No Honest at all

I have had this card for over a year, Never been late and always paid 4-5 x the payment each ponth, was told I would get an increase, each time I have called they keep saying the same BS we are in the process of converting all of our accounts to Master Card, This took place in Dec. here it is End of Feb. But they sure didnt have a problem taking out the yearly fees. This place is such a joke and I feel like they are just scamming people and giving them the run around.

Steer clear of this card

Ridiculous fees. You start out with a $300 credit limit, of which, you have $150.00 paid in as a security deposit. The first day, you are charged a $75 fee (which you know about right from the start). When you receive the card, and call in to activate, they want that first payment $35.00, plus the $75.00 paid right now. Then, after the first year, your card goes to a Master Card. All the other reviews are correct, the yearly fee remains $75.00, but the monthly fee goes to $12, and don't forget about the $4.95 monthly fee for a paper statement. I always had mine electronic, but somehow that seems to go by the wayside, and you have to keep selecting the electronic statement (really annoying, and convenient for them, for a nice little extra fee). Really, are you willing to pay all these fees for a credit card? Another thing that was questionable, is that you will pay your payment - I always paid early, and more than the minimum, of course. These payments do not show up right away - it is always well after the billing cycle ends, but they will take that payment out of your account immediately. So, you show you do not have open credit - really hurts your credit score. I did myself a huge favor and closed out this account, now they owe me money - let's see how long it takes for this to all happen. Very disappointing experience.
