Very good card Helpful to 1 out of 2 people

I got this card a year ago, the available credit was only $500.00, I said, oh well. I been using this card and all my others cards from time to time. I got 6 credit cards now ($11.000 available between all of them, and my debt is only $1000.00). Today when I was checking  my Platinum Mastercard on line, my credit is now $3500.00 ($3000.00 increased), I never asked for any increase before, so I don't know if it has to do something that it has been a year since I got his credit card. So I don't intend to say that this is gonna happen to everybody, just leting you guys know my case. Oh by the way , my Fico credit score is 741.

Will Rebuild Credit When Used Properly Helpful to 2 out of 3 people

Hi!

2015 New Year's resolution was to take back control of my credit file. Applied for Free annual credit reports from all three bureaus. Went online and challenged ALL negative accounts or information which included multiple collections and a court judgment and IRS tax lein. Credit scores were below 600 all across the board. In mid January, decided to continue re-building credit by looking for a secured credit card to begin a positive payment history while I battled to remove the negative stuff. To my surprise (and delight) I applied to Capital One using the Card Finder Tool and got approved for an UNSECURED card. It came with a modest CL of only $300 but that wasn't the point. I did not need to tie up any funds to secure a cc for the purpose of creating a positive payment history. The new card even has 1.5% cash back rewards! WooHoo!

4 months later and my Credit Tracker at my Capital One Credit Card account shows my current credit score (powered by Tranunion) was 645. Impressive. They also have a score simulator so you can test different scenarios and see how they would impact your credit score. With a CL of only $300 on one open account, my available credit score really sucked. Adding 1 cc actually IMPROVED my credit score even with 1 additional inquiry on my report.

So, I held my breath and pulledthe trigger to apply for a SECOND card again with Capital One. Today, I have a second Capital One Credit card using the Card Finder Tool with a credit limit of $500! (.....and, I haven't had enough time for my first limit increase on the first card issued.)

So, now I have TWO open accounts with a combined CL of $800. Well on my way to repairing the damage to my credit scores. One year from now, I expect to post an update with at least one more card this way with a combined CL of $2500 and Credit Score of 715+.....

The Card Finder Tool works. Arm yourself with the information in all three of your credit bureau reports and educate yourself on how to properly manage credit and your income. Use the tool as part of an overall credit rebuilding plan. It will work for you as it did for me. Good Luck!

Capital One Platinum Card Helpful to 13 out of 20 people

CapitalOne's customer service is atrocious!  Seek the service of another lender.  I wish there was an icon or something to indicate zero stars!
