In with the New and Out with the Old Helpful to 3 out of 4 people

This card was offered to me many years ago when I was much young and it has been the "catalyst" to my credit. The best action to do with this card is to use 50% of the available credit at all time, it'll increase your score much faster and also promote good standing.

Missing a payment isn't the best option due to the structure and foundation that they have for issuing the card to rebuilders itll impact your chances for Cl increases in the future. Capital one is really big on time payments you'll have to have a year of good payment history. Considering my experience with capital one I can honestly say they wouldnt even entertain the increase request.

Let your old habits go and start over fresh with better credit management... C1 is your second chance.  My currrent score 760 over a 4 yr curve.

Worked for me Helpful to 11 out of 12 people

I got one of those dreaded we will contact you replies when I applied via this method  on line.  I think I got mixed up as well and applied again.  I surprisingly got Two C1 accounts.  Both are 3k CL and I was just two days post discharge of my BK.  I got denied for the Barclays NFL card that this site said that I had a "Good" chance of getting.    My CK score was 661.  I am very happy with my two accounts. One is the QuickSilver that gives 1.5% cash back on everything (nice.) The other is the standard platinum card.  I really like the card image personalization feature.  I changed both of mine as  the original cards are honestly terrible.  Since making payments and keeping Util under 10 and 20 %, my CK is now 695.....

so unsure Helpful to 1 out of 4 people

So I haven't actually applied or anything yet.. But im almost 20 and just paid off my school loans (i only went for one semester) but it still shows in my credit report as an open account. I'm hoping that'll change/update soon? But either way, it says my score is 591. I'm still learning all about credit cards so I'm not very sure about APRs, etc. My parents keep telling me to stay away from credit cards, but I want to buy a car and I feel that this is the only way to build my credit! So I guess I'm just wondering if this is a good idea or not. I chose this card in particular because the reviews look really good! Thanks!
