This is a points earning BEAST!

I received a targeted offer for a 30,000 point sign-up bonus and was instantly approved for a 22k limit. I already had two Chase cards but decided to apply for this card to earn Amex Membership Rewards Points and I wanted to be able to take advantage of some of the Amex Offers. After a couple of billing cycles, I've become very impressed with the power of this card. If used properly, this is one of the strongest points-earning cards out there for daily expenses. Maximizing the grocery store category and getting 30 swipes every billing cycle is a must. Doing that, you can easily average around 3 points per dollar on overall spend.

The bottom line is you don't need a big income and a lot of monthly spend to justify the annual fee for this card. Use it with a little planning and you can earn a ton of points. Just be sure and have a good back up card for the places that don't accept Amex. I hope this helps.

this card is not as advertised

The problem with this card is that it is not that bad, however it is advertised as being a points card; but since I have been using it off and on for a couple of months I have not earned a single point on this card. I let them know what is wrong with the card and both reps said something completely different; one told me I had to make a payment for that billing cycle and another told me that I don't earn points for the first month. I think that these reasons are too convenient it seems like the rep's looked at the most obvious solution and used that as an excuse why the card is not earning points. This is a trivial complaint but how I see it is if you have to contact the cc company for any issues, “To me” that is not a good sign.
