I am proud to announce that Credit Karma is expanding to North Carolina. The new East Coast branch of the personal finance company will leverage the Charlotte area’s vibrant atmosphere to attract top talent from all over the region to support a new always-free online tax preparation service, Credit Karma Tax™.

We plan to hire as many as 100 employees, mostly in software engineering and other technical roles, to work in a new Ballantyne office in the coming years. We are also training a dedicated member support team to service the millions of Americans expected to file their federal and state tax returns through Credit Karma Tax in the 2017 tax season.

These new employees will join over 500 people in the San Francisco headquarters and new Los Angeles team to help our more than 60 million members in the U.S. and Canada make financial progress.

As a long-time resident, I am proud to say that our southeast roots run deep. I consciously chose this community to raise my family because of the quality of life it offers. As a company, we have long supported millions of loyal members in the region with free credit scores, credit reports and educational resources. In fact, our entry into the more than $2 billion online tax preparation industry was made possible by acquiring Cary, North Carolina-based OnePriceTaxes. This local employer, part of AFJC Corporation, was a provider of co-branded and private-label tax preparation and filing services for ten years.

Credit Karma’s scale and commitment to financial progress for all, will allow us to help even more Americans easily finish their tax filing without paying for the privilege.

Thank you for welcoming us to the community and we look forward to working with you.

Andy Jenkins,

Director of Engineering
