Pay your bills on time, make sure your credit card utilization is good, and everything else will come naturally. If you don't have a credit card, at least get a secured one to build credit and just throw a couple of dollars every month on there to show responsible payment.

Take on more debt and pay it off on time. That's the simple answer.

Watch your credit card utilization rate too, which is your debt to available credit ratio. The "experts" say to keep your monthly spending under 30% of your total available credit across all your credit cards.
So don't max out your credit card but don't under-use your card either. Less than 30%. Give it a shot. Let me know if it helps your score a little bit!

On the simulator, when I added more debt, it reduced my score, not increased, as you say. I am starting with a high score, with a rank of A.
