i know there is a civil claim on my credit that was paid off but still remains open...as well as others

you can go to experian.com and dispute them and then it will go to the creditors for verification. And if it is verified then it will come off in about 30 to 60 days

Its go to go to Experian but its better to go to all Credit Bureau and pull out a report from each; each credit bureau can contain different credit file or information. I had that experience with TransUnion; and the others were fine. Its FREE to get your credit report from all 3 bureau on annualcreditreport.com
