My credit report lists a collection from a company that actually owed me money. How can I get that off my report? I wrote the reporting company.

You need to dispute it with all the credit agencies its listed on (Equifax, TransUnion, Experian). After you submit your disputes, I believe they have 45 days to respond. If they don't respond after 45 days, it's removed from your credit report. That doesn't mean they can't report it back to the credit bureaus.
But, from my experience, once I've had any item removed from my credit report, it was gone for good. If they owe you money, have your proof and make them pay.
