I've put down over $1000 per month and there is no change in my balance. How do I lower my balance?

What is your specific situation? What is your current interest rate and balance? Is this over several credit cards or a single card? What is the minimum payment(s)?
If this is well above your minimum payment, then you will want to ensure that you have a good record of what you paid, when, and what the bank is saying of your balance, etc. But, if your balances are high and/or interest rates are high, you can possibly put down $1k each month and not make a dent into it.
