I have low limits on my credit cards ranging from $300 to $5000. I am self employed. Can I contact the credit card company that has a $5000 limit or the one with a $2000 limit and send them a statement showing I made, for example $100,000 this year, and get my limit raised to $10,000?

Answered on other post. Simply call first, they will request documentation of income if they need it.

how long before an inquiry shows up on my credit report?

It is usually immediately or within the day. Just keep in mind many lenders (outside of mortgage) will just run one inquiry on one bureau.

I bought a house..owe no credit cards.. credit score was in the mid 600's..but still can't get a credit card. What's up with that?

Often, if you don't use your credit, you will lose it. Consider Capital One or Public Savings Bank as great starter credit cards.

Credit bureaus don't actually have your income as part of the credit report. That's why in virtually all credit applications they ask for your income because lenders can't get this information from your credit report. Now in some cases, credit reporting agencies will have append income estimators based on things like your zip code but those aren't used for anything other than marketing.
It is also important to know that income is not used in the calculation of your credit score. Many people believe that income affects credit scores and that people with higher income will have higher credit scores. In reality, credit scores are based on your ability to pay debts back regardless of your income.
