It will be on your report for 7-10 years. It should be listed as zero balance or paid in full. if not contact the lender and they can update it.

sometimes the fastest way to get something like this corrected (if your credit report still shows a balance being owed) is to dispute it through the credit bureau (TransUnion, Equifax, or Experian). They will then contact the lender who then has 30 days (by law) to respond/correct/remove the item.
If you call the lender directly, they may simply give you the runaround and never get around to fixing the issue, since it is not a high priority for them.

watch disputing it with the bureau because the lender may not respond and in effect it will be gone completely. Unless you dont care.
