799 is an excellent credit score and will not hinder your ability to get a mortgage at a good rate. There are other factors involved though.

I don't see a problem. If you are unable to get a mortgage, you may have an age discrimination suit on your hands, if you meet all other requirements.

it all depends on the rest of the picture... if you have the down payment.. (20%?) have a reasonable debt to income ( 28% home/ 36% total) are borrowing less than 70% Loan to Value, have a reasonable application, can verify eveything, and the house appraises for at least what you are buying it for, then yep you might get the loan...
