I have two first premier bank cards and they do help with your credit but you have to stay well under 1/2 the available balance, the only issue I ever had is the time it takes them to process the payment whether it be check or money order it takes weeks, i even had to go to the post office and send it certified mail so they would have to sign to track the timing, well that one processed quick so long story short I pay 5 dollars over the min balance and I pay it twice a month so I dont get hit with their late fees, so if it is a 25.00 min I send 30 twice a month

They are generally very expensive. Check out orchard or public savings much cheaper secured credit cards.
