Thanks for the advice. As a young married I'm doing the best I can to make sure we have good credit as we'll be applying for a mortgage soon. Therefore, I was so frustrated when I saw my credit score had dropped 40 points in the past 2 months. I had opened a new credit card (based on your credit simulator!)and make every payment on time (never carry a balance month to month). My question is whether spending, for instance, $900 of my $1000 credit limit but then paying it off at the end of the month (down to 0) would count as a $0 balance, or as a $900 balance? We have just been using the card to improve our score, and can change our use as recommended. So how much should we be spending on it?! Thanks for helping me out - I greatly appreciate your site:)

accepted with a 666 and 2 hard inquiries in the past 2 years...did have to call and verify some information. choosing a design was also a bit confusing but overall went smoothly for my first credit card. read tons of reviews on numerous sites and this card seems to be the best fit for me as a student who plans to not carry a balance and use the card primarily for gas and groceries. also - i preferred cash back to points.
