ginalinares whatever you do don't close that card since you had it for a while closing that card will impact your credit score more. Keep it around for age. A closed card do you no help. Even if you have a lower limit it's bound to go up a little later on. A closed card does you nothing for your score. Just signup and move to another card leaving it the amex zero balance.

You must have credit age to you credit report before you can apply for this card, don't try applying for this card(or any other Amex card) as your first or second card. There are easier cards to get than this and they don't do credit limit like crazy. Until Amex Calms down I won't be signing up for any Amex offers.
