The question isn't "is Bank of America a Good Bank", it's really more "is there a better bank out there for my needs?". The answer is that BofA is probably not the optimal choice for you. Their rates are not competitive on any of their products, their online services are sub par, and their customer service is average. In today's market it's so easy to have your mortgage with one bank, checking with another, and auto/personal loans at a 3rd that you should spend the time to find the best financial institution for each of those individual needs.
BofA is great if you want a one-stop shop of mediocre products, but if you really want the best rates and best terms, you need to shop around. Their only advantage is presence - there are Bank of America branches everywhere. That might make it worth having an account and keeping a small amount of cash there for emergencies.

TheEasyLoanSite.com is not a direct lender, but this isn't a bad way to get 4 mortgage quotes quickly. It is NOT all online, you fill out your info online and then you are called by the lenders they match you with. Just make sure you're ready to start answering the phone and can be firm about what you want (most likely you want them to send you a Good Faith Estimate so you can compare all of the various options).

I can't recommend this product. No rewards, terrible customer service. There's no reason you should ever have this card (unless you can't get another one, for some reason).

I LOVE ING DIRECT! Seriously, they are great. Customer service is excellent, rates are typically competitive, and security is rock solid. We have our mortgage through them as well, as their 7/1 ARM has great rates and very lock costs. I also back with BofA, but they are just there so I can more easily deposit checks and occasionally withdraw some cash - all of my primary banking is no done through ING.

I've been using this card for 8 or 9 years now. 1.5% cash back is king, but you have to use it for ALL of your purchases for it to make sense. My wife and I can push some serious purchases through this card, so it works out for us, but if you're low income (e.g. college student) or trying to get out of CC debt this probably isn't the card for you.

I've had this card for about 6 years now. I never carry a balance so I can't speak to interest rates or fees, but the rewards are decent. For a long time this card was 3% on your top three categories, so I'd use this as a "filler" card when I didn't have higher rewards elsewhere. Specifically, i didn't have a card that gave me good rewards on utilities, so this became my billpay card. If you're looking for cash back, Amex Blue is probably a better all around card, but this has its uses as a backup when they don't take Amex.
