ninajoi,
i wouldn't recommend going wild with a card unless you know that as much as you put on it you are able to pay off immediately, which is what you should do. if you decide to do this don't go to the limit, just a hundred or two to stimulate the card use and then go home and pay off the bill online or however you choose. This shows that you can use and repay quickly. don't go overboard or leave a balance but even if you have 5 dollars on there pay it all off because the more available credit you have the better. If you open a new card, without many inquiries, and use it once or twice for gas and let it sit there empty, your score will go up.
always remember, leave oldest accounts open and in good standing to receive the best results.
