I have this account and have had it for years. Yes, the interest rate fluctuates based on going rates, but HSBC is a rock-steady institution with great customer service, and an awesome web interface. THey make moving money in and out of the HSBC account really easy.

FYI I received a letter from Chase with a change of terms. I called and told them I did not accept the term change and that they should therefore close my account. The woman not only offered to waive the change in terms but also lowered my interest rate and increased my credit line.

FWIW I loaned money on Prosper the day it opened, and was paid back every penny owed plus all of the interest. As the moderator noted, things ARE different now, especially with the secondary market for notes and gov't oversight.

Waste of time. Spent 20 minutes entering information and then it just told me it couldn't verify my information so it couldn't give me a quote.
