We have $210K in total debt from mortgage and auto loan. Scores for both of us are at 748 and 751. We have about $25,000 in credit card limits spread over five cards but pay them off every month. Nothing on your simulator changes the scores except by one point if I decrease the limit on one card to a low enough amount that it makes it unusable. Since we never pay any interest and pay everything off and have about 13 accounts I can't figure out what it takes to increase our scores.

My credit union VISA gives me a 1% cash rebate with no annual fee. I don't see how these AMEX cards can be considered anything but a bad deal unless you are constantly traveling and can put the free stay against the annual cost. But what if you stop traveling? It becomes a ball and chain.
