They waived my late fee after I was late for 4 days with a simple 2 sentence email. I'm not usually enamored with credit card companies but this was a nice thing Discover did.

You are absolutely right about age of trade line and its importance on credit scores. I think we were merely pointing out that that there are dozens of variables in the credit scoring model.

Based on their comment at Finnovate, the free service will continue. The model is based on the people who make many more then 10 trades per month. They claim a substantial percent of their users do.

The technical specs we received for the score are 150-950. We haven't seen anything below 400 or anything near the 950. From my experience, the extremes are always hard to reach since it becomes exponentially more difficult. For example, 950 would imply no risk, and 150 guaranteed default.

As soon as we move out of beta, we will be providing the complete distribution of our credit score against both the nation and the our user base. Our beta was designed to capture how this score compares against other scores.
