Follow-up...After notifying Chase and the Federal Trade Commission about their violation of the CARD act, Chase adjusted my APR back to the original terms. They also put the entire outstanding balance under a promotional APR for 6 months. I'm not certain if it's the CARD act violation or if they're losing customers to balance transfers. As an FYI, under the CARD regulations effective August 22, 2010, if a credit issuer increased your APR before the act and you have paid on-time consecutively for 6 months, they are required to reduce your rate or revert your rate to the original contract terms. Chase was in violation since the rate was increased December 2009 and remained the same as of September 2010.
I'm still a little timid about recommending this card to anyone. My advise: Watch Chase like a hawk and be aware of the new credit regulations. Thanks for reading and best of luck. And...thanks Credit Karma!

Like other reviews have stated, Chase can be devious, misleading and downright cruel. They take advantage of every piece of fine print in the cardmember agreement. The cardmember agreement says they "may" increase the APR on an account. No, they WILL. They upped my rate to 25.24%. I was never close or over the credit line and I have perfect payments. The card has a large credit limit, so I had to make the tough decision to keep the card open...until it's paid off. They know what closing an account will do to someone's credit history. I didn't want credit score impacted so greatly at the moment. Sad. Chase is nothing but pure Greed. You follow the rules and they still take advantage.
