Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard®

After a thorough review, I'm approved with my highest limit so far! I applied Friday and Monday I received an email from Citi saying I need to send a phone bill with my name and # that I put on the application showing. I also had to send another bill such as a utility bill or credit card statement showing my name and address, as well as a recent pay statement or if I couldn't show one(which I couldn't) I had to show my previous 1099 near or above the income I put on the app(which I did). I was approved with a $3K limit and a 0% apr for 12 full months. I'm not sure of my purchase apr. And I know they pulled Transunion because my score went down 3 points but I'm not sure if they pulled Eq or Ex.

Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard®

I just applied and have to wait until the application department is open for a decision. Let me start off by saying my credit profile dates back to 3 years and 10 months. Since then, I have 0 missed payments, less than 10% utilization including all open accounts. I have 5 total open accounts and 6 closed. My highest CL is $1,100 with Chase and I owe $90. The ONLY baddies on my 3 credit reports are 4-5 hard inquiries. CreditKarma reports a 702. My Exerian score is 718(it's went up 10-20 more points). My Transunion FICO is 723(it's also went up 10-20 more points). I'm not sure about my Equifax FICO. Anyways, I'll post back if approved with my credit limit and apr.. *keeps fingers crossed*

Slate® from Chase - No Balance Transfer Fee

It depends on other factors besides your score. Like inquiries. Chase is known to deny for too many recent credit inquiries. And if you do get it I would keep it. Just don't max it out or anything like that. Doing that will drastically drop all 3 of your scores.

Credit Card Approval Insights

If you have balances on your credit cards, pay them down if you're above 30% util. Don't completely pay them off at once, but do pay above the minimum payment. You will get more out of your score that way(in my opinion). And the CK Mod is right, you don't have to have a mortgage to have a high score, all it takes is credit cards. I now have 4 open in great standing, and when I started to use this site(March of 2009), I was at a 629. I now read my score as a 702(January of 2010). And TransUnion reports my FICO of a 723 which I know has risen another 15-20 points since I last checked. As for a personal loan, I wouldn't bother with it. If you take one out your score will actually at first go down due to you taking on the debt. And unless you have a LOT of assets you can show the bank, I doubt you would be approved with a 674. If you have a high utilization, that's what's hurting your score. In early '09 my utilization was 58%. I went from 58% util to 9% in less than a year and I raised my score nearly 100 points. Plus the automatic CL increases are rewarding.

Chase Freedom® Visa

This is my favorite card! I've had this card since I was 16(I lied about my birthdate)and I've NEVER had a problem with them. This year was my 2nd year with them, and they gave me an automatic $800 increase. Thanks Chase! My score rose from a 629 to a 660 in 5 months by the way. I was so low because I have been holding balances on my cards. PAY THEM DOWN AND YOUR SCORE WILL JUMP!

Discover® More® Card - American Flag

I've rose from a 629 to a 653 in 3 months with several cards(greatly paying down my card debt) and a $6,900 personal loan for a motorcycle from Citi that I was approved for yesterday, and I'm going to wait until 2010 to apply for my next card. Hopefully I will be in the 700+ range. I won't apply for this, I will try to increase the limit on my Chase Freedom card or will look for a new card with Chase.
