Maybe if I was still living with a big console analog TV in a maple cabinet I would consider this device, but I haven't owned a CRT-style television in nearly ten years. Pass. "

Reply Cancel ReplyNo HD or Digital??? Why would I want this for my nice new wide screen DIGITAL TV? Sounds like they are just trying to clear inventory. "

Reply Cancel ReplyFor those who don't watch enough TV to understand what the fuss about HD is about, this is a good deal. I have had a Series 2 (Single-Tuner) TiVo and a non-HD TV for several years, and see no need to change anytime soon. "
Andrew, the TiVo is more than a DVR, it's a _service_, and that's what makes it more valuable than the cable/sat offerings. "

Reply Cancel ReplySeries 2 TiVo's won't tune OTA digital channels so come Feb 2009 they are useless for over-the-air transmissions - and what cable/satellite company doesn't offer a similar device now to its users at a lower monthly fee? "

Reply Cancel ReplyShould look towards the two HD versions of the TiVo. The series 2 is yesterday's TiVo. Even if you do not have HD now, you will eventually. These last for many years and you can upgrade/replace the hard drive so get the HD version. "
