The fees are outrageous for a secured card. Bank Of America and National City both have better secure card products

This offer is only secured if you send them a $300 deposit, plus a $99.95 processing fee, in addition to the $59.00 per year fee.

Outrageous fees. Why do people say its a bad offer but still give it a thumbs up?

If you have bad credit this would be one great way to rebuild it. Remember your paying for the card to report your good standing. That's why the fee's and charges are so high. Once you establish a 560 or more you can apply for Capital one or HSBC. But until then. Put your cash in to a secure savings visa or master and keep the balances under 30% of the credit limt. Your score should jump up 40 points with in 90 days. Good Luck!
