No grace period means I pay interest on every purchase even if I pay in full each month.

And $59 annual fee. There are much better deals out there.

APR IS TO HIGH TO ESTABLISH A NEW ACCOUNT. IT SHOULD BE 15% or less.

There is NO grace period for this card. It's NOT a good thing if you're new to credit (which is the point of the card - right?)

There are lots of credit cards designed to rebuild credit, examples:

First Premier, Orchard, Indigo, HSBC, Imagine all will give $300

starter credit, if you behave, they'll raise it all the way to $3000

Be sure to read the terms and conditions. They are not checking credit here but rather using collateral to determine credit approval and amount to be approved. In the terms, it states they are going to put equal the amt u r willing to put into a new savings acct with them. If you put $1000 in the acct as collateral, they will give you up to $2000. In my opinion, if you had it like that, you wouldnt need a credit card in the first place! Read the FINE print; it makes a difference in your decision to apply.

When you are in a position of bad or no credit these types of offers are great. You do have to realize going in that there are additonal fees but that is part of the reality of a sticky credit situation.

I obtained a secured card with Bank of America -- my bank. But after doing some research I discovered that my score still suffered because I did not have at least four (4) lines of open credit.

So its not that just my credit is "bad"; I pretty much have none. I am well aware that it has horrible fees -- at the same time anybody who has great fees won't give me a card.

I got one just so I can establish the credit; after a year I'll roll over the balance/credit to a more sensible creditor.
