It does not seem that being a student has anything to do with the offer, does it? I mean go they cut you any slack for being jobless, or having a high GPA?

Often student credit cards have lower credit requirements but also lower credit limits.

After reading all the comments and see the little success stories posted, didn't want to give it a try, but went ahead.

Applied on 8/2, got a call on 8/3 approved with a $1000 limit. Also applied for CITI on the same day, got denied. Not sure with whom they pulled from. Credit @ 698.

Discover Card is the best card out there if you read your card member agreement but you must have good credit remember guys the card is unsecured.

That's why you need good credit to get their Card.
