Yes the fees are huge, but you're basically paying them to report on-time payments every month. If you're stuck with a credit score under 600, there is pratically no way to increase your score (outside of waiting 7 years for all your bad marks to fall off). I had this card for a year, and after that, was offered a $3k Discover, a Amex, and many other cards. It opened the door for me to reach the stratosphere of credit scores. DON'T use it as a credit card, use it as a program that just reports on your reports.

The approved me, but i had to report the card to the credit bureau, i don't know if they are doing it every month. They need to change the fee rate...Free to send through the mail but $7-11 to pay online or over the phone..not cool

When you think about it. You want to build credit. When it comes you your report, you want to have a card for a number of years to show history. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. Get a store card like Costco/Sam's Club after you become a member. They always give 500.00 credit to its members. This Premier card is a rip off. Aside from all the fee's. If you want to get this card and ignore what I am saying then- WAIT- until the new credit laws take affect. When they do, then they cannot charge all these fee's to your cards causing you to basically almost max out on the card. Under the new laws, it will be illegal up to a certain percentage of the card limit. So if you want it, wait until 2010.

I have two accounts with First Premier. Unlike most Bad Credit cards - this is a true unsecured credit card. Yes, the startup fees are high, but they report to the credit bureau every month. They have great customer service, and will grant you credit limit increases as you progress with ontime payment history (as long as you are not maxed out). I would recommend this to people who are having a tough time rebuilding their credit, who can be responsible with a low limit credit card.

Yes, there are quite a lot of startup fees. But when you don't have the most stellar credit out there and are given the chance to rebuild, the fees really aren't that bad. The minimum payment is only $25 and they really do report every month. Plus, after you've made 6 months of on time payments, you get sent another card for double the positive reporting on your credit. I've had both cards for a almost a year now and it's made a HUGE difference in my score, startup fees and all.

if you read the list of fees, it's outrageous. they have fees for everything, from accessing your account online, to making payment, etc.

Read the terms and conditions carefully. This is not a good offer. With the minimum approval of $250, after fees billed you have less than $80 avaliable.
