I've had my card for 7 years. No credit line increase, just an interst rate increase. I've paid every single payment on time on all my accounts even through the market crash. I think this is the year I close the account.

I would like pointers, but when I first opened my CK account I had a 612, since reading up on Secured cards I opend a secured card with my bank, and 600 dollars with Applied Bank from the recommendation of CK, my credit is already up to 658 in 30 days, should I leave the high balance of the cards and not use them, or should I always buy items of small amounts and pay it off? Which one will be best, because I would love to just stick them in a drawer, and enjoy the increase everymonth... Hope to hear some great feed back.

I have had this card for almost 4 years and have had positive results, raising my credit score from the mid-500's up to the 720's on all 3 credit bureaus. My only negative feedback would be that in 4 years I have not seen a review of my payment history and rise in credit score for additional consideration of increased CL (my current credit limit is only $600). My 3 star rating is weighing the positive aspect of the card in rebuilding my credit, but it would be nice if they raised my credit limit more often since I have had 100% payment history. I am currently keeping this card to build my credit history and do not plan on using it (I intend to appy for other cards to gain a higher CL).

Will my vredit score get lower if HSBC closes the card due to nonuse. I had a a 1500 credit limit maxed it out and paid it off within a year. I am overseas so I don't need to use any crediy cards, but HSBC closed the acct and said it was due to the fact that I wasn't using the card. Will this hurt my score?

Hate the company - especally since being purchased by Capital One - I have had the card got over about a year - never late on payments - credit limit increased from 300 - 400 - limit is so low not worth
using the card - poor effect on credit score with limit so low
