660, declined in under 30 seconds. In the interests of full disclosure, I did have an account closed once.

No but seriously, how does discover expect people to get approved for this card if they hardly approve anybody!!!! I got denied with a 663 Transunion, 606 Equifax, and 657 Experian. Hey you guys, maybe it has something to do with Innovis???? I heard this is the 4th major bureau. I might want to check into that.

Denied with a score of 663. I haven't seen nobody get approved for this with something below 700

I got approved and I have absolutely no credit. I just had to confirm I was a student. Credit Karma couldn't even give me a credit score because I had nothing to base the score on, and I still got approved for this card. I'm a sophomore in college and I have no job. I would actually encourage someone who has no credit and is a student to apply for this card, for the simple fact if I can get approved, other people with no credit can also get approved. Good luck!

Im in college full-time and work full-time. I'm now scared to attempt to apply for this card. If you need to build credit, just get an American Eagle, Sam's Club (which you can use at walmart). My score shot up 40 pts. I just want a good solid card like Discover or AXP to use from here on out. HSBC card is good, but I had having to request credit increases. Only get 300.00 at a time for some reason.

I applied for this card was called and they said I had been approved I just needed to send in income verification, I did so the same day I was told I would receive my card in 5-7 days when I did not I called the people were very unhelpful and rude and I got no where with them. After three calls to them in over a month of being told I was approved and it was in the mail I received a denial letter. THEY LIE!!

Keep in mind there are a number of different credit scores that can be used to determine credit worthiness. My Transunion score is 625 but my Equifax score was 550 six months ago....start averaging things out and it equals denied!

I applied for this card on www.creditcards.com and was told I had been approved, but also to contact a Customer Service rep at a 1-800 number. When I called I was told I was not approved.
The description for the card on that website said "no credit history needed", and even though I had a short credit history with a 100% on-time payment record on my PayPal Buyer Credit account, and a decent enough credit score of 666, I was still denied. I wonder what type of student can actually afford this card? Do they expect full-time college sophomores to make $2500 a month? Or is this offered only to WASPs with parents rich enough to pay for their children's reckless spending? And what college student doesn't have some student loan debt? By my calculations, my Stafford loans will add up to about 12-15K when I graduate, and the monthly repayment will be around $125. Does this qualify as "excessive debt"? I would think graduating from a Top 30 National University (by US News ratings) would land me a good enough job to pay that off.
The whole business with credit scores and credit cards are a sham designed to maintain the status quo. My family emigrated to the US in 2007 and has never missed payments on rents and utilities, never been in debt and my father and I pay taxes, but we still cannot get approved for the vast majority of credit cards and even for services like cable TV (Verizon, Time Warner and DISH Network all turned us down in the past).
